Dramarama2000 is a creative drama club for young people.
Through various drama activities its aim are as follows (with the emphasis on fun!):
- Encouraging confidence
- Provide opportunity for creativity
- Foster an awareness of and to develop skills in verbal and non-verbal communication
Dramarama2000 has been running since
1988 and thousands of young people through the years have experienced the fun of
being involved in workshops, exam classes and productions. The aim has always been
and still is to develop confidence through the development of creative and communication
skills in a supportive and enjoyable setting be it in a workshop, exam class or
taking part in a production.
Sylvia Robinson takes the Workshops and Exam classes.

Founder and coordinator of Dramarama, Sylvia was trained at Edinburgh School of
Speech and Drama (now Queen Margaret College) and Jordanhill College of Education.
In 1966 she became a peripatetic teacher of speech and drama for Aberdeen City during
which time she worked with the Aberdeen Children's Theatre. She became a lecturer
in 1968 at Craigie College, Ayr and then in 1973 at the Aberdeen College of Education
(now Aberdeen University) where she was involved in training specialist teachers
of drama. In 1988 she then set up Dramarama. Sylvia has adjudicated festivals in
Ayr, Arbroath and Inverness; acted on BBC television; presented her own television
programme for Grampian Television; interviewed for BBC radio; as well as training
offshore personnel in presentation and committee procedure. Throughout her work
she has aimed at helping people – no matter the age – communicate with confidence
and creativity. |
